Licence terms

What you may do with a HLX product, in language you can hand to a client's legal team without translating it first.

The two licences

Every product is sold under one of two licences. The one you bought is named on your receipt.

Standard

Use the product for one brand — a business you own, or one you are employed by. One brand means one commercial identity, not one project: you may use a Standard licence across as many campaigns, pages and files as that brand needs, indefinitely.

Extended

Use the product for unlimited client projects, with a team of any size, and sell the work you produce with it. This is the licence agencies, studios and freelancers need. It also covers internal teams that operate several distinct brands.

What both licences allow

What neither licence allows

The line is straightforward: sell what you make with it, not the thing you made it with.

Upgrading

Bought Standard and then landed client work? Email hello@hlxmarketing.com with your order number and pay the difference in price. We do not charge a penalty for this and never have.

Third-party assets

Some products reference typefaces, stock media or software we do not own and cannot sublicense — these are named in the product's contents list. You are responsible for licensing those separately. Where a paid typeface is used, we list the foundry and the approximate cost before you buy.

Ownership

TZD Creative LLC retains copyright in every product. The licence grants you rights of use; it does not transfer ownership. Work you create using a product belongs to you or your client, as your own agreement with them provides.

Termination

The licence ends if you breach it — chiefly by redistributing the product. If that happens we will ask you to stop before doing anything else, because in our experience it is nearly always a misunderstanding rather than bad faith.
